Nestle Skin Health and Galderma are truly breaking ground by taking action to provide real solutions for healthier and more active aging. By 2020 there will be 1 billion people over the age of 60, and each and every one will have deteriorating skin. People are living longer than ever before and our skin must therefore be able to protect us for longer. The aging phenomenon is new and transformational and will have implications for different sectors such as health, finance and education.
In response to the emerging need for global efforts to address skin health, the SHIELD initiative was launched in 2014. The global network is the first of its kind, comprehensive and science based in research and innovation. It is comprised of innovation hubs around the world where healthcare professionals from the fields of dermatology, general medicine, aging, nursing and technology will interact and work together to promote a life course of healthy skin through medical investigation, education and application of converging technologies and bio-informatics.
The SHIELD Network will be a featured initiative at the Innovations in Dermatological Sciences on November 9, 2015 by the Center for Dermal Research in New Jersey. Learn about the developing strategies to address the emerging skin health challenges that result from our 21st century longevity, as well as how the discipline of dermatology is responding and adapting to the rapid aging and growing demand for attention to skin aging.
