My project consists of developing a reproducible synthesis of a block copolymer for the preparation of nanospheres for drug delivery. Nanospheres are prepared by a co-precipitation method, and the particles are mainly used for the delivery of hydrophobic drugs for various biological applications. I have developed methods to control the particle size and am currently evaluating how the size affects, drug loading, release, cell behavior and topical delivery. My work in the Laboratory for Biomaterials Research also involves performing degradation studies of polymeric materials using various analytical techniques.
