Create an APA-style citation

  1. SEARCH RUL resources by going to the Libraries’ web site and typing in the title, preferably in quotes, in the QuickSearch search box, e.g., “Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban ” to find the bibliographic record.
  2. Click on the title to open the full record. You will see a lot of details.
  3. Click on the citation symbol ” to get the proper citation. Select APA (6th) style. Save the citation.

That’s it! Do this for your next paper.

EXAMPLES: available in the poster galleries

OPTIONAL: Scroll down to see availability and location. You will see the name of the library, such as Alexander, Douglass, etc, the actual location, such as Stacks or Reference, and a combination of letters and numbers, which is a Library of Congress (LC) call number. This is your GPS in libraries!

TIP: Click the Expand My Search box in the left panel, if you can’t find a book or article at RUL. Your search will be expanded to many academic libraries.
