Acclaimed author Carmen Maria Machado is (virtually) coming to Rutgers!
Machado’s smash hit debut story collection Her Body and Other Parties and award-winning memoir In The Dream House blend realism with elements of horror, sci-fi, and experimental fiction to eloquently address difficult topics: sexuality, intimate-partner abuse, body shame, and much more. Her prose is clever and compassionate, particularly attuned to irony––comic, tragic, often both at once.
A writer-in-residence at the University of Pennsylvania and recipient of a 2019 Guggenheim fellowship, Machado is a nationally recognized rising star. Come hear a leading writer talk about her craft!
