Really exciting news for fiction fans at Rutgers: Joyce Carol Oates is coming to campus! Oates has been a titan of American literature for decades, best known as a prolific and prizewinning author of novels and short stories.
The School of Arts and Sciences has announced that Oates will teach an advanced fiction writing workshop in the coming spring semester, and will deliver a public reading on April 8th, 2020. Winter break is the perfect time to get acquainted with her work, if you haven’t already — check out her many books available at Rutgers University Libraries! The Reading@Chang group has selected her short story “Where Is Here?” for discussion, and a discussion guide is available here.
